Thx!

And that's weird, what browser are you using? 'Cuz different browsers tend to render animated gifs in varying success. I'm getting solid 12 fps on Firefox 7 (that is the targetted fps of this gif).

Uhm, I'm using Safari and Stainless on Mac, and both render the gif with much flickering... That's quite weird!

What kind of shaders did you use? I assume you turned on edges from the way it looks. Did you animate the scarf? or just softbodies and wind? I'm still learning Blender so thats why i ask, just so I can figure out how to do these kinds of things in the future. Also awesome model, i love me some low poly. But this is intense!

Hi there! Yes the frames were rendered out with Edge-setting on. I was a bit bummed to see that there wasn't much of fine adjustment to be done other than changing the color of the edge and edge tolerance... and I'm using 2.59 already :/ The scarf was animated by hand, partly because making a physics simulation loop properly is a bit difficult task to do.

Hope that helped. And welcome to Blender community, be sure to check blenderartists.org, blendercookie.com AND blenderguru.com :)

Oh and about the shaders n stuff. I only used regular materials with "Shadeless" option turned on (to prevent any shadows to be cast on the surface). Then I applied textures to those materials and made sure those textures had all mipmapping or interpolation settings turned off. That guaranteed the crisp pixel look.

I'm digging this so much and I'm so glad you've got it up in the Low-poly forums at PC.

Yeah I find PolyCount to be a real shrine for lowpoly/mobile art :)

Thanks for your comment!

Hey, awesome 3d! Any chance we're going to see it in a game?

If I get time and motivation to actually build something around this character, then maybe yes :-P Though it would make a perfect test subject for an Android project...

It could be a perfect character for a 3D custom bike racing game.
